Ingest, transcode, delivery and recording are not our servers. They run on one of the world's largest cloud networks.
Adaptive quality, automatically
Viewers get a stream that matches their connection — a phone on 4G and a TV on fibre get different renditions of the same event, without anyone configuring a ladder.
DDoS protection is not an add-on
A public event page is a public event page. Cloudflare is already between your audience and the origin, which is a class of problem we never have to think about.
Network scale is a public Cloudflare figure; re-check it before quoting a number.

Our website is not in the live path.
The control plane is not the stream. Those are two different things, and most platforms cannot say so.
A running event keeps running
If everything in this site and the whole control plane is down, an event already on air continues to ingest, deliver and record.
The watch page degrades, it does not vanish
It falls back to a cached page with a working player embed. The audience sees the event, not an error message.

Our status page separates "our app is up" from "your service is on air", because those are not the same question.

Local, and honest about it.
StreamWorks is a division of Stage Audio Works, which has been delivering video in Africa for years and installing the gear that produces it. That is the whole difference between us and a US platform with a support form.
It also means we bill in rands, support you in your own timezone, and can send someone to the building. When we do not know something, we say so — every claim on this site traces to a document, and anything we have not proven is labelled rather than implied.
